PETUNIA

Petunia is a spreading herbaceous annual. Many hybrids are available in all colors except blue. They can bloom from spring well into fall if deadheaded regularly and work well at the front of borders and as a short-term groundcover. Do not plant petunias where they were planted for the previous year or two. Cultivation and propagation notes are basically the same for all annual color and may be found at the bottom of this page.

CALENDULA

Pot Marigold (Calendula officionalis) is a spreading herbaceous annual. Several cultivars are available in yellow or orange. They are used for cut flowers and can bloom from spring well into fall if deadheaded regularly and work well at the front of borders and as a short-term groundcover. Cultivation and propagation notes are basically the same for all annual color and may be found at the bottom of this page.

ZINNIA

Zinniais an upright herbaceous annual. Many hybrids are available in shades of red, pink, orange, yellow or white. These come in various sizes from six inches up to three feet depending on variety. For better information about plant growth, check the label on the package or container. Zinnias can bloom from spring well into fall if deadheaded regularly and attract butterflies.
